WEEK 11

We began the term by looking at how the Unreal class will connect with the advanced and experimental course. We were introduced to the two possible briefs for Project 2 and encouraged to use the workshops to explore something new. At this stage, the project feels open in a way that is both exciting and a little intimidating, because there are many possible directions, and I don’t want to overcomplicate things again.

At the moment, I think I may choose Brief 1, but I still don’t know exactly what I want to experiment with. The freedom in the brief is something I need to approach carefully, especially after learning last term how quickly a project can become too complicated when I try to include too many ideas at once. From the project examples we were shown, the one that resonated most with me was the stop-motion approach. At the same time, because we are allowed to try any software or workflow, I also feel tempted to return to Cinema 4D and use this project as a chance to experiment with it again.

What feels important now is not forcing a concept too early, but using the workshops and examples to notice what actually interests me. That way, I can choose something that feels manageable, clear, and still open enough to experiment within.
